About the Big Issue
Designed by Phil Morrison with high speed off wind performance in mind. The hull design was influenced by Phil's design work on International 14s. Big Issue has a double bottom with a raised shear line and so you can nearly sit in it!
The original rig was radical with a jib boom, raised main boom, large main and a novel centreboard. The rig is now more conventional. The boat has at times shown bursts of phenomenal speed both upwind and downwind and has proven to be a good all rounder with good tacking ability in light winds
