Title: Cotton Sails
Post by: mack2 on 14 Jul 2007, 09:49
Hello All,

Hope someone can help with some information or advice? I have a vintage N12 and in a canvas bag the original 1948 Cotton Sails!! Unfortunately the Jib has some damage.

I do have some newer sails however it would be lovely to see her on the water with the original rig!

So my problem is who to approach for a repair?

Thanks

Mack

I agrre with Mike Day that Kevan Bloor at Alverbank Sails is a good person to try. However he will pobably say that the luff wire is a problem because it would have been made of galvanised wire which has corroded away over the years. Replacement of the wire might be an expensive job.

Thank you to those who replied and to Kevan who Emailed me direct. The quick responses and support are what drew me to the class in the first place! Fantastic boats and a fantastic group of people.

Thanks again.
