Title: Jack Chippendale
Post by: Chris Day (Guest) on 15 Mar 2012, 07:29
As you may have heard, Jack died aged 87 on 24th February. In
view of his long association with the National 12s, class members
might wish to attend his memorial service, to be followed by a
celebration of his life's work, on Friday 30th March; if so it would
be helpful if those coming could advise Tricia Francis, 01603 782171,
for catering purposes. The venue is Tunstead Church, near Wroxham
Norfolk (postcode NR12 8HT) and at the nearby Wroxham Barns Craft
Centre afterwards.

In particular we are keen to have examples of Jack's work at the
celebration. Many of his boats survive, and if you know of an owner
not too far from Wroxham with one of the Chippendale-built boats we'd
be delighted if it could be present; please contact me if so, Conrad
Natzio, on 01394 382491.

Thanks -

Conrad Natzio

The Times newspaper had a good obituary.

There was a piece on Last Word on Radio 4 about Jack which should still be accessible until the end of next week via the listen again function.
