75 years of development

With the  four day event being held over the August bank holiday weekend, if working, you’ll only need to take one day of holiday! Average entry for the last couple of years has been 75 boats  and this year the Class is fully expecting to exceed these numbers - so don’t miss out – enter today and come and make  it a fantastic event to remember.

We very lucky to be holding the Championships based from Brightlingsea Sailing Club. Brightlingsea has held many National Championships in the past and is very experienced at professionally running large sailing events. The membership of the club are warm and helpful and this should allow the 12’s to have an exceptional event to celebrate the Class’ 75th Anniversary.

For racing the location is unbeatable. Brightlingsea’s home water is the Colne/Blackwater estuary, an area that provides sheltered sea sailing at all states of the tides – not to mention some of the most unspoilt coastline in the South.

The club boasts excellent facilities – including a wide launching ramp, adjacent dinghy park, large bar and galley and spacious changing rooms. Brightlingsea’s south-facing terrace borders the sandy beach which provides a safe place for the little ones to play whilst other family members are racing.
