Venue & entry

On 11th and 12th September 2021, at Northampton Sailing Club, the National 12 class are holding a celebration weekend event for our 85th birthday and we are calling on all current, past and future N12 sailors, enthusiasts and supporters to enjoy a weekend of National 12s. We are planning for one day of fleet racing and then a ‘Grand Pursuit Race’ with the oldest N12s starting first. Previously this race has been won by iconic or vintage N12s:

12 50TH Event – N153 – Uffa King – Robin Steavenson
N12 70th Event – N3012 – Nigel Waller and Tom Barford
N12 75th Event – N326 – Nigel Waller and Sophie Mackley

The aim for the weekend is to celebrate the class, whilst there will be racing, the focus will be National 12s generally and the class welcomes everyone who has a N12 to attend and bring their boat along to enjoy their time ashore and on the water. Even if you are unsure or new racing, please bring your N12 along and show it to the enthusiastic members. There will be a Concours D’Elegance Trophy and the judges will consider the ‘story’ of the N12 as well as the overall condition.

We are hoping that National 12s from N1 to N3551 (or newer!) will be taking part or at least on display throughout the weekend.

There will be plenty of crewing opportunities available and also a wide range of boats from vintage to modern available to borrow for competent helms for the weekend.

Register using the form below. Entry is £45 per boat and can paid on the day or in advance by bank transfer to the NTOA including your sail number as a reference.
