Paul Brotherton will be on hand at the Gill Series Event at Derwent Reservoir later this year to coach and offer advice.

The National 12 Class Association are delighted to announce that Paul Brotherton, the Olympic medallist, will be coaching them during their N12 Gill Series Event 6, held at Derwent Reservoir. The event takes place on 11th & 12th September 2004 and coincides with the Inland National Championships as well.

Paul, an established coach and multi-event winning sailor in various classes, will carry out some 'on the water coaching', followed by an evening seminar session based on the psychology of winning. The event is part of a national series sponsored by Gill, which comprises 7 events throughout the year. The current leaders in the series are Graham Camm and Zoe Ballantyne sailing N3492, Babel Fish.

One of the key success stories of the Gill Series has been the after sailing seminars which have covered a diverse range of topics from sailing with small crews, what to wear afloat and how to tune the rig. The highlight of this year's seminar season is at Derwent Reservoir when Paul Brotherton will be sharing the secrets of his success with the 'Psychology of Winning'.

Last year the National Series again generously supported and sponsored by Gill attracted over 100 entries at 7 events across the year. Events ranged from as far north as Tynemouth and as far south as Salcombe. This year, to keep the series fresh, a new set of venues has been chosen, all enjoying strong club fleets.

'The series has made a massive difference to our open meeting turnouts. We have seen the return of old 12 sailors as well as many new entries to the fleet. I believe that the turnout at these events has also had a knock on effect on the National Championship Week where we expect an entry of over sixty boats' Graham Camm, Class Association Chairman.
