Have Crusader with rear tank with metal transom bar and open back.

Seen some folks have added a rear flap - I guess something like clear acrylic. Fixed to the top bar so it acts as a big transom flap.  Whats the best stuff to use / cheap source?

Also in process of changing my rudder / stock over to a carbon version - need some advise on which pintles to use / how to set this up from my current version - (big pin going through gudgeons).

Thanks,

Kean

Yes I know its very early to be thinking about 07 but need to plan some holiday bookings etc.  Stayed in a great French gite over the half term and want to bbok it next summer for 2 weeks. I''m ASSUMING it would be the same week (last full week in August) just need to confirm.  Where's it taking place??

Unless you want to move Burton week to be International?  Lovely location near Tranche Sur Mer.  Huge beaches, great ice creams, surfing and sun too!

Thanks,

Kean

Any thoughts on having quick multiple races in a similar vein?

Just curious, last night managed to sail in big thunderstorm lots of lightening etc - had to retire too, after being in a nearly winning position 3 laps in  :'(  (smalll crew not too happy being out in all that wind / rain / flashes) - so is it any safer being struck by  lightening with a carbon or a tin rig??

Anyone knows what happens??

Anyone else planning on going river sailing?  Conditions look more suitable than BCYC!

There's a chance of getting an RS600 carbon mast - could this be sorted out for use on a 12?

Just an idea!

The Club is having an official opening (29th October) of new Club house and also final celebrations of its 50th year.  Any former sailors from there would be welcome - please get in contact.  There used to be an active fleet so would be interested in hearing which designs / boat numbers sailed there.

Also would like to canvess opinion on how many would attend an Open meeting there - probably would be held jointly with Albacore (the meeting tends to be early May) their numbers dropped off a bit last year and trying to encourage more 12s to join / get out on water (we have 4 in the Club reputedly!).

Club is an old gravel pit, new Clubhouse, good food, camping space - located in Cotswolds Nr. Cirencester.

Would the Club be in South West Region or Thames - since we are part of the source for it!!??

Thanks,

Out in my Baggy T last night and all went well until a big squall hit us on a run - nose dived, then  flooded with water over foredeck and ended up in the drink.

To prevent the nose dive should have moved back quicker - anything else we could have done?

Next problem is that after righting we were almost level with the water and not much chance to sail her dry - how big should the rear bags be?  They don't seem big enough to me.

Does anyone have a good racing main (couple of seasons old max) you want to sell off?  Have recent dacron jib so probably OK - but would be willing to discuss purchase both main & jib.

Sails are for Baggy T.

Thanks,
