That was my first thought but the bottom 4 boats did not finish a race so that would have made us 76?

Yachts & Yachting are doing there usual Nationals attendance table and the 12 is curently top;D.
However they show we had 77 boats, yet my results lsit shows 80.
Does anyone know why we have lost 3 boats, are they still out there!::)

Matt & I will be there in 3470 for camping, eating, drinking and oh yes sailing.
Two extra camp followers for Saturday night. Possibly extra boat if I can talk Nigel into dragging 3327 out of his garage in Macclefield where it has been for the last 6 years. Will keep you posted.

Having been to the last 3 'Summer events' and still planning on being there this year, what made them special was the ability to camp on site free of charge, a good Bar, and a lake where you could pop ashore for a cuppa between races.  I agree the champs is for the sea and the Summer event should stay on a lake.
I have noticed that all these events have meant a lengthy journey North for me (Northampton, Ripon, Hykeham and now Leigh & Lowton) but so far worth the effort.
Maybe 2010 should be a bit further south, Spinnaker could be good if they can supply the three vital ingrediants.

Now that is one seriously beautiful boat. Well done Marcus!
I hope you are bringing it down to Leigh & Lowton for the summer meeting and perhaps measurement? I would love to see it in the flesh

Today was very windy though dont know the numbers but 2 more masts went. Only 23 boats finished the last race.
Jo won both races today so only didn't win first race which went to Graham and Zoe.
2nd Tom & Liz
3rd Antony & Jo
4th Kevin & Jane
5th Jon & Char
I'm sure full results will be up soon

I notice the Burton Website shows the 'dress as a twelve party' for Saturday night and 'Crews union' for Sunday.
Thorpe Bay website shows 'dress as a twelve party' for Sunday night, Barbq for Sat.
Which is correct?
Wouldn't want to turn up for the barbq dressed as a twelve!

No we spent 2 days watching the gales blow onshore at Thorpe Bay.
Windsurfers and Kite boarders only!

Gerry and I were discsussing this at the weekend, and whilst there is no doubt my man-o-war is significantly faster than my Crusdaer if I had sailed with a Double floor for any length of time before I bought one I would still be in an AC boat!
They absolutely knacker your knees in the light winds and if you did not know you bad bad knees before sailing one you will soon know within a few weeks like I have done. Costing me a fortune as well, pain killers, fish oil, Glucoscomine sulphate, etc.
Go ahead and fit a double floor and you to could be taking all these tablets you never took before!??)

I like the comment on the Met office web site for the Brton week(end)
There is a possibility of some quite high temperatures for the southeast next Friday. Into the following week, and the weather remains unsettled for most. However, it may become drier and warmer for some southern and southeastern areas.
Its the Sothend-on-Sea micro-climate, I hope!

Chris,
I am struggling to see the humour in this, OK I lied it made me smile.
For you none Facebook people, I had the mast down last week lying next to the boat. One of the cruiser chaps decided to mow the grass in the dinghy park and lets just say rotary mower blades and carbon masts don't mix. On the bright side the blade just skimmed down the mast till it met the shroud fittings. Yes the ones I had only replaced the week before! Of down the chandlers, again...

I sailed 3413 last year with sails cut for a carbon mast on a tin rig. P&B set up the new mast for them and they looked fine to me (see data base pictures). As already posted its all about where you put your spreaders!

I particularly like the phrase they finish with:
it is not the size of the boat which makes the difference, but rather the motion of the ocean.
