Antony,

what about the boat situation on Millbay? Do you have to pay for overnight boat parking or does the SYC sort that out? I know carparking being National Trust is quite expensive, so we were thinking of leaving the car at the park and ride at Bonfire Hill and taking the Ferry over.

Hi Ben!
What materials are you considering?

MikeyC of Aardvarktechnologies has a Big Issue mould and also a Foolish mould. If you like wood, talk to Dare Barry. He still builds his modified Final Chapter design (Man O' War) in ply. I'm the proud owner of one ;D Either way, when you build you might still have to consider paying a reasonable license fee for the design unless you're doing your own  ;).

Cheers and good hunting!

Very much looking forward to the postings  :D

I had a windy Saturday on the Ammersee - Force 4 gusting 6(!) I managed to keep the boat upright although I was solo sailing - some fluke eh? Planing upwind is really freaky too.... :o It's at times like this when I'm greatful for my 90Kg weight!

Cheers!

Janey, photos can be viewed on bristol-moths.blogspot.com
Emma,

Just save a copy for me - I'll be down at BW  if you're there - 'cos it's difficult to get that magazine in Germany. Ta very much!

By the way, what'll the boat class be named - BBB (Big-Bottomed Blaster)?

Sophie,

ironically, it's precisely part of the Ratchet that I was discussing - incidentally a very interesting last Ratchet in its current format if I might add too. It's not easy playing Advocatus Diabolis at the best of times and my input was clearly merely to indicate that a forum is precisely what it is - a place where things can be discussed in a demoncratic manner  :).

By the way, references to the editor by yours truely were not meant to be a slight.

I've always enjoyed reading Ratchet and am looking forward to reading it in new format. Good luck! :D

Sam,
My crew is inexperienced and it is turning out that she might not have the drive I have to get through the week, particularly if the wind gets up. It might be that the rules allow a crew change halfway throught the week, in which case, if she doesn't want to race, then I'll be able to offer you a couple of races. I'm sorry, but that's all I can offer at the moment. I know how it feels, since I spent some of BW last year wanting to get out on the water, but knowing, with my 14 stone nobody would seriously take me on board, even if it were blowing a gale  :-/

Somebody out there do this lad a great favour and prevent him buying an a laser, solo, RS600 Phantom, Evolution whatsit  or even - heaven forbid! - a Supernova  :P ;)

Cheers!

Jim.

How'd she do at Garda? Take off ok? from the Bristol Blog pics looks like it was good fun.

Cheers and good luck with the project.

Proven great all round shape - just look at the results.
Derek,
I did talk to Tom about this and these WILL be the standard foolish design. Sorry to have caused panic if that was the case. :o

Jim.

P.S. How's your foolish doing?

I'll send you an interior shot of Passion Pudding at the same time. Simon.
I've already sent one of Passion Pudding, but one closer up might be a help.
