If I may make a suggestion, It does not matter which of the latest "hot" designs you go for, as with anything, success is measured by the amount of time you can spend doing it, multiplied by talent, divided by the index of the cost (time x talent /[£]) and you may have spent years looking at 12's, but when you get in one you may hate it.
My advice would be buy second hand, they are all tried and tested and much cheaper, there are plenty on the 'For Sale' part of the site, play with it for a couple of years, join the NTOA, go to events, talk to people and try things out and then you will know what you want.
Good luck and good hunting.

If I change this as well then I can call it the SNAFU variation (of the FUBAR design).

I have to say that I agree with Paul, I too looked at this boat, did some research and felt that things were not as straight forward as first seemed.
I also came to the conclusion that it was probably a 1964 March Hare called Fifi, hull no 2253. Unless anyone else knows differently.
I have to say the although this was a disappointment, this was not the thing that stopped me buying the boat, yes buying, it was the loss of my rented garage as the owner wanted it back.
Still my loss your gain. good luck and enjoy.

Paul, Is this the boat boat advertised as 'fifi' on the For Sale Board? I was wondering about her provenance when I did not get a reply when I mailed asking if her sail no matched her hull no. :X
Incidently if it is 'fifi' she is a March Hare No 2253, clinker, built 1964, but from the tone of your thread you dont seem to think it is a Nat12 at all, is that right?:-/

Many congrats Marcus
That is one seriously beautiful boat.
Beautiful enough to be up there alongside the best modern Swedish furniture.
Hope you get her measured up soon and have many happy hours sailing.
I am so envious as you can see.

It should have been a Gill sticker there was enough water for there to be one.??)

Hugo Boss sponsoring Mclaren is the closest sailing connection that I can make.;)

;D Wouldnt be at all suprised the amount of water there was on the track. they would have done better in boats -less pirouettes.:o

Ok you've piqued my interest, what have I missed? I'm guessing that Rondar are going to produce a 12, if so which design? and a load of other questions, and where can I find out?

I dont kow how I have missd this thread, I am always on this site having a huge interest in 12's. However if you still have her then I am very interested as it is now time that I had my first 12 and the kids learned the art of sailing. I have moderate carpentry skills and deal of immagination so unless she is a complete rebuild then I can probably cope, if not I know a man who can help.
I can and will collect from anywhere in the country, if given the chance.
Please let me know what the score is, Thanks for the opportunity.

This boat was advertised for sale late last year on behalf of a endor in Pewsey, which is near to me, I should have contacted him then, but didnt :B. Does anyone know if the boat was sold :'(. If not does anyone have his contact details ::). I am now in a position to be interested, and would like to get a look at it. I may with luck be beached no more :).
