Actually designed and built by Angus Dick. I see him occasionally - he only lives about 5 miles from me in Modbury. Next time I see him I will ask if he has any original pics of Gammerstrang.

Complex is currently owned by Nick Tyler ( the late Shirley Tylers cousin) who has offered her to Salcombe Yacht Club for the use of members who want to try out a Twelve.

Anyone interested in seeing her, give me a call.

Rick,

the limitations set down are as in Class Rule 11.3.5, and what your sailmaker has supplied.

Intrestingly the ISAF Equipmemt Rules of Sailing don't actually specify what a batten is! Just about the only thing they don't..............................................

If you are thinking of making your own sails best get a copy of the ERS - it will help and tell you what reinforcement, stiffening and patches you can have and the max sizes allowable.................... there's nothing worse for a measurer than to reject a sail, trust me I have had to do it a couple of times; fortunately the sailmakers are still talking to me!

Intresting comment on the database that this boat, a Final Chapter, whilst the latest registered number is out of class. Anyone any ideas? An intersting story? Has someone been home building for so long that the rules have changed?

And before anyone asks - its nothing to do with the Ivybridge Boat Bodging Company!!!!!!

First measured on 6.12.1999.

Tha hull was built by Chris Semple out of the Cheshire Dinghy & Dive mould, having sat around for a while Peter Bennett of Saltash bought the shell and decked it off in I believe DML, Pete was working for Chay Blyth's Challegne Business then. The speed bumps were put on in my garage when I measured her and found the rise of floor out!

The sails with the green N were the originals bought s/hand from P&B

Kean,

I suspect that they have all passed away. One, 2745 from memory was last seen by one of its previous owners, Peter Sturgess, being used as a rowing boat on the Teign!

I do have a pic of David Crofts one which I am going to scan and post. David if you see this, what was the sail no?

Also I nice one of Mac and Liz's Hoppy Three, arh - there's memories........................
