I have a feeling this has been mentioned before, but did NWNSA give you the dates for 2008?

Kean, very good question.  I hope that Gavin W will see this and post his full explanation of the decision that the committee made........  of course needless to say that you really had to be there....

Derek,
I think that you are wrong about the dates, the sail from Salcombe to Burton Wk 2008 may work out nicely.  Furthermore, the probablity of a nice westerly is somewhat higher.  If you leave early on Saturday you might get there for the practice race!

I am told this is great, sadly i never managed to do it and am now far too old.  I guess i might be there in about 8 years time....

If you are interested, but do not have a 12, then let me know and we can see what can be achieved.

The weather was lovely, especially for beach activities.

Incidentally, on my attempts to check that the roads to Devon were open i got a lot of warnings about the M4 west of Chippenham.  Might be wise for people to check routes as there seems to be some surface water out west.

Sorry, we have probably been a bit tardy in advice for 1st timers.

The plan is, as usual for those that have been recently, for there to be a slot booking system that you can join on arrival or when ready.  To remove lead, if you want to, requires sweet talking a qualified measurer into making the necessary reweigh official and signing your certificate.  This is usually possible if you are patient and offer alcohol.

Obviously all of the above relies on a few variables, including the arrival of the scales and the availability of people able to oversee the weighing.  Jon Brown will be in charge.

Yes, there is the usual opportunity to weigh in on arrival.  This means that you do not have to be weighed again mid-week should you be identified for measurement.

If you are heading off for the fun, games and sailing next week you need to bring:

1.  Your certificate.
2.  Any trophies that you won last year.
3.  Two costumes for Thursday night, see details under socials.  There will be top prizes, mostly for effort rather than style.

There are obviously lots of other things to bring, including sailing kit.......

See you there,

Chris,
I have sent you an email.

I do not think that is your sail number!  Unless you have borrowed a boat I think you are 3453!

See you there,

I think that John and Katy might now have left for Poland!  These, and doubtless other, questions will have to wait for them to get back on-line as I do not know the answers.

John & Katy, if you see this then Jo and I want one each too!

I love the idea, and am going to Salcombe for the regatta.... but Saturday is sort out the family day not do something that you really fancy doing day!  Sadly I am not even going to ask for permission as I already know that logistically it would be impossible, but will watch jealously as you sail up the harbour on arrival.

Simon, come for some of Burton Wk as a training exercise for the big event the following week.  The practice and coaching you could pick up would be invaluable.

I agree with David, an early Crusader would be perfect for winning on handicap at your club.  If the budget does not stretch then a nice Cheshire Cat or Tiger also worth a look.    3211 or 2938 at the right prices are both nice boats.
