Charlotte, you are a star.  That is just the best sort of van weekend, and a Roast Dinner too?  Fantastic.  V happy bunnies here!!  Shall pack liquid stocks to ensure we can have coffee and a late night snifter.  How awfully civilised

We will be 'living on site' from Friday night through to Monday and it would be really helpful to know what food will be available at the club and when so we can work out what we need to bring with us!  Can anyone help with this information?

I think racing Coaches may be more fun than being at Pennine SC for 2 days in strong winds and rain!

Sadly will miss this one, which is a shame as I've happy memories of sailing at Redesmere but a Racing Coach course beckons.  Have a great day.

Would have loved to have made a return visit to Burwain, however it being Easter weekend we are committed to other things.  Hope you have a great day, happy memories of the last time I sailed a 12 there.

How do you handle members who drop out during the course of the year?  We are concerned that someone might be allocated duties in the latter part of the year but decide to leave the club part way through.  Do they commit to a full year of payment or can they stop at any time?

We suspect that as a club we are going to be forced to look at e-payment of club subscription fees at some point in the future - does anyone use this type of technology now?  Particularly interested in systems other than Paypal.

Looks to me like you have a bad case of blue worm. I can see one trying to escape down a hole it's just nibbled, and looking at all the other holes they've had quite a feast!!. The only cure is to wash the boat out with dirty brown beer.  ICM may have a better cure

We do use the age related handicaps at Ripon for club racing, which means N3447 and N3334 sail in our fast handicap fleet but N2149 gets to go with the medium handicappers.  We too get all sorts of comments about being bandits, but ignore them!  I wasn't the one who suggested using the age related handicaps but I am more than happy to go with the wishes of others!

Saturday night sounds good - on Sunday we will cook up a feast in the van - no doubt something creative involving sausages to keep the crew happy.  Thanks for the offer Jane, but we wouldn't want to go off to a do and leave Ellie behind, it would seem awfully mean.  I suspect we may have to play Snakes and Ladders instead!

Will there be anything organised at the club for those who don't want to go to/can't afford the dinner, or who (like us) have children and can't therefore go along?

Ripon SC will be hosting a Handicap Open meeting on Sunday 17 April 2011.  It's open to monohulled dinghies with a PY of 1000+ and an overall length of 15ft or under.  3 races with 2 to count, first start 11am.  Further details coming soon, put the date in your diary as we'd love to see a good number of 12's on the water.  Ellie and I will be sailing, probably in N3334 but if the conditions are right N3447 might be out and about.:)

3414 is a very well sorted boat. I sailed it in a race last year with my 9 year old daughter, would have bought it myself if I had'nt already bought 3334.
