Courtesy of John Chalker and his copies of the Aldeburgh YC Year Books -
Wizard was built to the Aldeburgh 12ft Restricted Class Rules and initially registered as R26. She first appears in the 1934 AYC Year Book so was likely built in 1933. She was re-registered as N70 in 1936 and was listed as owned by J.M. Crean up to 1937 when Miss C. Orlon & L.Field are listed as the owners, followed in 1938 by H.J. Cadbury-Brown. She does not appear in the records after 1938.
This early picture shows Wizard as R26 with R3 (latterly re-registered as N29) in the foreground.

Courtesy of John Chalker and his early copies of Aldeburgh YC's handbook's I can confirm that -
Hornet was originally built in 1931 to the Aldeburgh 12ft Restricted Class Rules, sail number R5 and was owned by P.V.Mackinnon. She was re-registered as N16 in 1936. P.V. Mackinnon still owned Hornet in 1946.

Photo courtesy of Mike Liggett showing N 2132 on the foreshore at Felixtowe Ferry.  "It was taken a couple of weeks ago as we sailed past (hence "poor" quality) and also quite a way off.  Since last year she has been turned over and the extent of the stove in planks can clearly be seen".

I found it helpful to handicap myself by forgetting a mark in race 2 and having to go back for it and then have my boom conveniently detach itself from the gooseneck in race 3 and do a couple of 360's whilst sorting it out! All good fun!

I second Howard's sentiments...great event, great club and great people and the long drive was well worthwhile, my thanks to all.

Item number 120737846891. Based in Derby according to listing. Advert says 16' long but owner confirms hull as 12' long but has not as yet confirmed the sail/hull number.

Yes, a very enjoyable event and I'll second the big thankyou to all involved in making it happen. Today Im wondering why my legs are aching and more importantly why its been 16 years since I last sailed, which interestingly was the N12 Scottish in 1995! I shall try not to leave it that long again!

Thanks John
Looking forward to it....and may well need that crew!

I can confirm Brian Herring is planning to be there....and I am coming down from Perthshire with N1833 and my brother is coming up from Wales with N3402; crews permitting we will all be on the water!

[face=Arial]Text from ebay listing - "Vintage National 12 N1486, "Four Square", professionally built in 1956 by Wyche & Coppock to a Proctor Mk 6 design using marine plywood & mahogany.[/face] [face=Arial]Excellent condition for age with many period features such as Tufnol cleats, builders nameplate etc. [/face][face=Arial]Complete with original wooden mast and boom, all rigging, suit of sails, combi trailer and various spares. Built-in buoyancy.[/face][face=Arial]Unique & very important boat in the history of this class of boat as it was the first one to be built with four planks each side.
