Always a fantastic week in a lovely part of England.

Hi Stuart,

Anything with a lace rather than a zip in my experience. I currently have some Rooster ones but after 3 years they're starting to wear out, hopefully the Orwell doesn't get cold too quickly this year!

Looking to get Zarniwoop back out on water ...... Is this still a go after latest GOVUK restrictions ?

Hi Ian,

I believe the RYA are still reviewing the changed guidance, but we as a class will mainly be guided by Draycote Water's Covid-19 policy.

As mentioned in the NOR, if the event is cancelled as a result, full refunds will be given.

It is great to have something to look forward to and hope for in these unprecedented and uncertain times, so would encourage early entries.

Just to confirm that Burton Week 2021, our national championships will be at Shoreham S.C. in 2021.

It looks like we'll have a few 12s out, maybe even double figures, but enough for our own start.

The bar and kitchen will be open from 12:00 both days with outside seating and some limited indoor seating. On Monday, the "Eat Out To Help Out" discount will apply!

A radial (for its time) AC 12 is rumoured to be making an appearance too...

If anyone is looking to do some N12 sailing over the August Bank Holiday weekend, the RHYC Regatta is going ahead and is an open event.

First start is 10:00 each day, 3 races per day and if enough commit beforehand we can get our own start, we have a handful of N12s coming already.

There won't be any social activities (no crabbing competition) however bar and galley are going to be open all the time.

Changing and showers etc available but limited, changing in the car park is the new normal at RHYC.

NOR available here - https://www.royalharwichyachtclub.co.uk/racing/open-racing-events

No briefing on the day so please take note of the usual local rules about commercial shipping and contact with moored yachts on the river.

Hi Paul,

Latest RYA Guidance suggests double handed dinghy sailing is fine, as long as helm and crew's heads are 50cm apart and there is no shouting!

Synergy Marine have a DCB Hull almost ready to be taken away for fitting out, or they're happy to fit out to your specification, or to the same spec as N3549.

Email info@synergymarine.co.uk or call on 01473 736293 for more information.

Hi,

Which N12 are you looking to retro-fit a T foil rudder on?

For your ref:

1) The DCBs tend to have the same fittings and work as per this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrCKs5k1EnM

2) There are a few photos of various retro-fits in this album on flickr:

3) If you click through these photos, you can see the setup on my DCB, which is similar to those that Simon Hipkin has re-fitted:

Good Afternoon Paul,

Thanks for sharing this very sad news.

I had a few discussions earlier in the year with Martin when he was buying N3465 from RHYC, which he collected in February.

Thoughts with the family at this time.

Hi Roland and all,

Interestingly enough I suggested the same idea last night to a few of the NTOA Committee. An Eastern, Southern, Northern, Scottish etc event on the same day, perhaps. Further details TBA based on 18th July decision and further guidance.
