Thanks Howard. Still waiting to find out when I can collect her, hoping for Sunday!
As you say vast quantities of Nitromores and sandpaper, and a good few hours in the garage no doubt. :-/
Looking foward already to launching her, perhaps Spring next year.  :)

Umm many thanks....It will be many many months before the said yot will be released to sail with the Vintage Fraternity, I suspect ....
Could ask the current owner to fill up the cockpit with water and see what happens before I bring it home, it might just pop open and disintegrate, or it might just stay together and not leak!!!

Ahhh I wondered who got it!!    ;D
I was watching with a view it bid at the 11th Hour....The owner did say that he donated to the National 12 fleet to avoid it becoming a Plant pot, which was very generous of him.....
Given my competence at ramming all things Turner, I suspect I might not be able to sail her!!!!!!:P

Having spent a great 4 days at Southend, I agree with Fuzzy on cost. The weekend cost this year about £200, and given I have a non sailing wife, it was an expense both she and myself could cope with. A meeting in summer holidays at a south west holiday destination would mean a choice between family holiday abroad, or sailing. Given the family do like sun, then the sailing would not be an option. I know there will be those who say...ah yes combine the 2, but in al seriousness, having spent a damp week last year in Devon, its never a consideration.
For me Burton week has to be very affordable, easy access, good sea sailing, great organisation, great socials and options to go camping. Southend ticked all these boxes this year, and this format will always get my vote in future years.
And Jane, Yes I think Simon was well off with his comment!

Must be better than weather today, even my SatNav said that car drivers needed an umbrella whilst driving in yorkshire today. I think they meant inside the car not out!!!
