Paul,

Have you tried Fox Transfers? www.fox-transfers.co.uk
They specalise in modeling transfers and amy have what you are after, alternatively they could do 'specials'.

Tom,

From memory Jill asked me to paint Jammin for her back in about 2000. If its still the same mid blue, its Epifanes Monourathane 3107.

You take a conventional Rondar Paradigm 2 hull moulding, a chain saw, some exopy and a Halfords load of highbuild. Slice the hull about a bit, lower the stem by about 12" (seriously!), play about with the sheerline a tad (having discussed it with the Technical Committee first!), put on a foredeck and DB in that looks similar to a kitten and hey presto you have a Paradigm 3.

No doubt Gavin can go into more detail but thats basically the way he described Curosity when I was measuring her............................

I was thinking of using the X mark as a gybe mark off the Club - it keeps the members entertained!

[size=x-small;" size="2">The arangements for this weekend are that I have agreed with the Salcombe Harbour Master for 30 FREE <font style="font-size: 8]dinghy parking spaces in the Batson Boat Park and harbour dues are waived. The boat berthing applies from 17.30 on Friday evening through to 08.00 on Tuesday morning. Please do not leave your cars in the spaces your boat has been allocated, doing so will jeapodise this generous offer for future open meetings! There is a large car-park next door to the boat park, please use this if you have to drive in. If the boat park attendant has gone when you arrive please leave your boat neatly in an empty space and catch up with him first thing on saturday morning. And please do not leave your trolleys at the top of the slip, take it back to your space - the slip gets very congested and trolleys have been known to disappear over the side..........
The Club is open on Friday evening from 17.30 with food being served from 19.00. On Saturday evening we will be having a pie and curry night and food will be served from 18.00 to cater for those of you with 'little people'. Sunday night is a Carvery night and we will be serving from 18.30. If you are going to eat in the Club either night can you ensure that you either / and put it on your entry form or tell the guys behind the Bar - we want to ensure that there is more than enough for everyone.
On Monday the Club will be doing food through to 15.00 so that you can fill up before going home!
For people new to Salcombe, and I think that there are a few this year, remember to allow plenty of time to get round to the start line.
See you on Saturday</font>

From memory the thwart has always been there. I don't have many pictures of 3434 from her Saltash days but those I have indicate a crew sitting comfortably forward and in the boat - bum cheeks would definately hurt if it was only the perches! Also as has already been said, the construction of this hull would mean it would have creaked badly if there wasn't any central bracing............................
I remember praying at the time she was being built that they would register her before I registered the Foolish that I was just finishing as my first 'real' Twelve was a Mr Jones N2425 so I really wanted to have 3435!

In a nutshell.........................

Angus,
The RYA take into account every boat that races on handicap - regardless of age. However as with all things like this its only as good as the data that goes in and one of the major problems that RYA have is in getting accurate up to date information For instance does your club send their results data in? If you were to talk to Bas Edmonds at RYA you would be amazed how few clubs bother to send data to him.  Any club using Sailwave as their results package simply has to hit one extra button and its pinged across to Hamble. I tend to do this once an SYC series has finished or after the Regatta.

Also I find that using the Twelve numbers as published in the Handbook works well for Club racing, for sure the usual culprits come out on top - buts thats because they sail their boats well, not necessarily because they have the latest design.

I suspect that we have now come to the time for an extra line and that 3415 - 3524 will sail off 1092 and 3525 + will be sailing off 1089 - suggestions?

Boats / Re: N2604 Aftermath
25 Feb 2010, 10:28
Ken,

I would take issue with David having actually won Salcombe YC Regatta Week. I took all the names off the Lambury Points Trophy in August last year and neither David nor Aftermath's name is on the list. There are two years '77 and '79 when the victors couldn't be bothered to get the trophy engraved but I don't think that its one of those two?

For the full list of the Week's victors follow this link - http://www.salcombeyc.org.uk/res/user/495_national-12-winners-overall.xls

Could it have been the Salcombe Town Regatta that he won?
