Pip Pip Onk Onk
A ride in a 12 is better than the Ninky Nonk!!
(refer to a small child (under 5 at least) if you don't understand!!)

Grazz should really get most of the credit for YMCA / NTOA.
The 2nd one is from Beautiful South, "Perfect 10" was the orginal title. NO I can't sing it in tune!! ;D
Could modify the chorus a bit more to fit;

cause we love our 12,
In different guises
we love this boat, especially the lines
Time takes its toll, but not on the eyes
Promise me this, sail em all right

Back on thread more - one issue we have now is the mad 12' skiff guys call themselves 12s too. Those 12s are even more niche and totally mad with all that rag and rigs. So just having the 12 feet (foots?) is a 8) idea but could get misconstrued.

Tremendous
Welcoming
Evolutionary
Loveable
Vaavavoom!
Elegant

Play about with some sort of tag lines;
SMOD - SaMe Old Difference
N12 - Diversity Originality Multifacted Surprising
Choose to be different - Choose a 12

Shes a perfect 10, but she Sails a 12
Baby keep a little crew for me
She could be sweet 16, bustin out at the seams
Its still love in the first degree

When hes at my gate, with a Design 8
You wanna see the smile on my face
And even at my door, with a poor Mark 4
There aint no man can replace

cause we love our 12,
In different sizes
we love this boat, especially the lines
Time takes its toll, but not on the eyes
Promise me this, sail em tonight

If hes extra large well Im in charge
I can work this thing on top
If hes xxl well what the hell
Every penny dont fit the slot

The anorexic chicks, the model 6
They dont hold no weight with me
Well 8 or 9, well thats just fine
But I like to sail with something I can see

cause we love our 12,
In different sizes
we love this boat, especially the lines
Time takes its toll, but not on the eyes
Promise me this, sail em tonight

Ive bought a watch, to time your beauty
But Ive had to fit a second hand
Ive bought a calendar, and every month
Is taken up by lover man

cause we love our 12,
In different sizes
we love this boat, especially the lines
Time takes its toll, but not on the eyes
Promise me this, sail em tonight

Young man, I need a good crew?
I said, young man, this is a Big Issue 2.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a Design 8
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, don’t be Foolish you know.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can sail there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to sail with the N T O A.
It's fun to sail with the N T O A.

They have every 12, for you to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the carbon toys ...

It's fun to sail with the N T O A.
It's fun to sail with the N T O A.

You can get your hull cleaned, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel ...

Young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, what do you want to be?
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams.
But you got to know this one thing!

No man does it all by himself.
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there, to the N T O A.
I'm sure they can help you today.

It's fun to sail with the N T O A.

It's fun to sail with the N T O A.

You can get yourself cleaned, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel ...

Young man, I was once in your shoes.
I said, I was down and out with the RS blues.
I felt no man cared if I were alive.
I felt the whole world was so tight ...

That's when someone came up to me,
And said, young man, take a walk up the street.
There's a place there called the N T O A
They can start you back on your way.

It's fun to sail with the N T O A.
It's fun to sail with the N T O A.

They have everything for you men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys ...

N T O A ... you'll find it at the NTOA.

Young man, young man, there's no need to feel down.
Young man, young man, get yourself off the ground.

N T O A ... you'll find it at the NTOA.

Young man, young man, are you sailing with me?
Young man, young man, what do you wanna be?

My assumption would be that the users just go in and registere their details, the Moth fleet seem to do it this way - I think the initial issue is that you have to register an email address thats not a personal one (although that could be done).

Ideally this helps people see where the active fleets are - so the location should be which Clubs we normally sail at. I know a few don't have a home Club but these are a minority.

Even if we notice other N12s at Clubs but are not NTOA members or active on the forum the details could be posted up.

Boing - can we do this now we have the N12 Gill map up and running? I think we need to register the N12 NTOA email address to use the map site.

Not many sailing locations you can get aerial shots of boats from - at least thats one benefit. Can see how the boats are being sailed.
#84
Interesting - are they working with anyone directly in the Class?

Steve Cockerill re-designed the Graduate main sail plan, which may now have been adopted by their Class assoc too.

#85
Not been there since my Yoof, Laser sailing (only time I beat Ian (Bov) Turnbull :) )

It could make an interesting / nice location for an Inlands / long w/e event - but would be a long trip there for many of us!!

Anyone know when the actual 70th Burton would be sailed (war years missed a few) and I can't find my class history book to work it out.

Jim - oops - the Map site given was for the Moths!!! Not sure how you remove it!!!!

I was just suggesting we set up a similar - not my idea directly just plagerising others!!!

The good thing about Google is that you can add in locations around the Globe plus you can use for directions to venues etc

The Mothies have created a Google Map for their members - looks pretty cool;

Add your usual sailing location to our Google map. Include your name and if possible email address. Account name and password below...

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=52.379372,-0.238266&spn=0.16724,0.462799&z=11&om=1&msid=111109536395396084356.0004415b1615348568fe1

Account name: internationalmoth@gmail.com
Pasword: mothfoiler

Can we set up a N12 map using our NTOA mail address to link to a new Google account - would be cool to see where all the 12s are sailing now - link to the N12 boatdatabase too??

You won't get a DB for that sort of price, but there are many good single bottom (Admiral Cup) available. Also there are some that are not yet on the list but will be soon, Fuzzy Duck will be up for sale soon. You could try posting a wanted advert and see what pops up. Something like a Crusader design could be a compromise for both river & sea, but there are better options if for each - there are some older vintages which would go well on the river - why not buy 2 boats and keep one in London & one by the sea!
