Great racing throughout the fleet, very close for everyone I think. Always good when we turn up with more boats than the other fleet too!

Great weekend!

Good Evening All,

Just a quick note to let everyone know that you can now enter for the 70th edition of the infamous 'Norfolk Week'!

This year the event runs from 27th July - 3rd August.

No early entry discount, but the organisers would like to know numbers earlier rather than later. Expect a bumper National 12 entry this year too!

Online entry - http://www.norfolkweek.co.uk/entry/

See you there!

Unfortunately N3276 was already on the bonfire before the N12 sailors arrived for the Inland Championships and Gul Series Finale at Northampton SC in November 2018, where she sat all day until the fireworks had finished. Regretfully the bonfire was then lit and within minutes N3276 was no more.

Just an idea! The actual image is better resolution, but too big to upload here.

That is great news, congratulations! Will you travel further with your newly acquired competitive boat?

One of the great things about the N12 is the ability to start with a cheap, older boat and then progress through the designs! After a bit of sailing in a Design 8, I bought my foolish and now, who knows what 2019 will bring............

Good Evening All!

The NTOA are pleased to confirm that there are currently 3 boat builders who are willing and able to build new National 12s!

The details are in the link below, including a few options for retro fitting a rudder adjustment system and buying a T foil blade - but more in-depth details about this will be available soon.

So, the Hijack molds are safe with Composite Craft, the DCB is available through Synergy Marine and Simon Hipkin has priced up a production 4 Plank DCB in either Wood, Glass or Carbon.

It is worth noting there is a 10% discount on the Synergy Marine DCB - if 6 are ordered. There are at least 3 potential orders already......

Happy buying

George

The name rang true on 21/10/2018 when this N12 was burnt as part of a dinghy park clean up / working party at Henley Sailing Club.

Once owned by Chris Atkins and also owned by Tom Pearce during its 42 year life.

This N12 was unfortunately burnt as part of a dinghy park clean up / working party at Henley Sailing Club on 21/10/2018.

Potentially once owned by Patrick Elcombe.

A fantastic 4 days of N12 sailing at a great venue. Those who didn't come certainly missed out! Probably the most enjoyable Burton Week I've been to!

9 boats at NWNW

We would have had at least 4 more if work, operations, moving house and Salcombe Week hadn't got in the way.  A few usual sailors missing from Salcombe Week too.

I've thought a lot about responding to this thread and won't yet, but I'll leave the below thought:

In 2013 or before, a friend and I were thinking about a double hander, the Lark was more favourable as we'd sailed one but by 2014 one of us had a 12 and by 2015 I had one too. Looking at the Lark Circuit for 2018, looks like we opted for the correct choice - we had 14 at Salcombe & 23 at RHYC, the Larks seem to just squeeze past 10. However, I know that Salcombe and RHYC seem to attract 12 sailors.

Interestingly for overall 2017 both the classes had 60 different entries over the series. The Firefly 'vines' series had 40 overall with 12 the highest turnout outside of the nationals. But they have a very active online profile - especially Instagram - which gives the impression of an active class. Any feedback on the 12's Instagram would be welcome.
