Weren't the rules changed to prevent a 'Vortex' style 12 with twin 'hulls'??  But Vortex is a real dog in light winds and tacking round.

Marcus,

Any pics of your boat during / after build?  A description can be hard to follow - annotating a pic to show what you mean would be cool  8)

The RS300 type shape could also be a possibility - not sure how close this is to the rules currently.  I'm not sure many would take a risk and why the Class seems to have only a small number of designs sailed at the top, FF is dominating the new builds now.

Tim - I'll be getting rid of my muscles boxes over winter - so make me an offer!

I would also like a crew that doesn't grow too quickly - now #1 is trained up he's just getting too big to be upfront!!  Not sure if he's keen to try the back end.

I agree with MikeS comments - it can be quite difficult to keep youngsters motivated.  It seems we have quite a few boats out know with younger crews (sub teenager at least) - any ideas on how we could keep them more interested in 12 sailing?  Is there any demand for specific young persons crew training??  My #1 crew is now getting too big and with exams etc is less committed.

In not too many years from now there should be an influx of other family crews from the current top end of the fleet!!

I have an old Proctor C (I think) Gold coloured - been outside for a short while but you can have it for free.  I'm in Wiltshire though  ??)

Not sure I'll be up to Yorkshire for a while (although have family there).

Agree with David - great series overall.

FYI - there were 38 boats at Northampton and at least one known last minute drop out.  We also had 15 AC / vintage boats there.  The racing was very close throughout the fleet.  A few ex AC have moved onto the DB scene but there are plently more of those AC boats waiting to be raced at a Gill event.

23 - helms qualified with 4 events but 33 could have qualified if they did Northampton as the last event.

Looks like a recent ad (?) - another boat from the Bristol fleet (based on the picture) - anyone know the number?  Wondering why they don't use the 12 site to sell???

Funky paint job and seems well priced to sell.

Vote for a SHAG had a bit of a ring to it too  :o

Long range BBC weather forecast for w/c 29th october to 5th November;

A southerly flow may persist for a time over southern parts of the British Isles but the predominant flow will eventually be a mild, moist westerly from the Atlantic. By comparison to Week 1, temperatures will climb to at least the seasonal average. In some areas, notably Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of eastern England, temperatures may well rise above the seasonal norms of 14C in the south and 11C in the north.
The period should be marked by average amounts of sunshine in northern and western Britain and below average for all other areas. It will be the mild, westerly flow rather than sunshine that will lift temperatures.

Looks like we will still be plagued with lightish winds - but I guess all could change.  Quite a few Inland Champs have had to be cancelled over the last couple of w/es.

Thats one way of getting more entries at the first event of the season!!

Not sure if we'll make it - but will try.
