Hoare Tigress once owned by former Northampton12 sailor, Ian Carpenter, who then sold her on a few years ago to a student based at Holowell SC. Found by me in a 'neglected' state and brought north to central Scotland where she has just undergone a thorough refurbishment. Can't decide whether to keep her or sell her in the spring as I am more than happy with my Pipedream (3032). Watch this space/give me advice/offer!?

Fully refurbished and fitted-out. Offer of a 'return' to Annandale SC was declined and she was sold last autumn to an enthusiastic new owner based on the Isle of Eigg in the NW of Scotland.

Sold through eBay and is off down south to East Grinstead where a 'big boat' sailor is planning her refurbishment. Watch this space...................

Nigel - There are a couple of photos of 3253, posted by the previous owner, on the 'designs' database together with some of the boat's previous history. Try there for some help or head along to a club sailing 12's. Almost every 12 owner is friendly and helpful. If you 'post' where you are based, someone will 'come out the woodwork' to help!

Rumours about 'Rumours' making its inaugural appearance on Scottish water are sadly, unfounded. An invasion of mice in this mild winter/spring we are having has had a devastating effect on its sail wardrobe. That, together with a shortage of time on fittings and set-up will mean that she won't appear til later in the spring. The helm anticipates being present though to eye up the talent on his return to the Twelve fleet after a gap of some twenty-five years.

I bought this Twelve from Tom Briggs (Tynemouth S C) in 1977 when he comissioned Off-Beat(2978) It had a good record as 'Brigadoon' both on the Tyne and up here in Scotland. It was sold about 1980-81 to a couple of young brothers (Hope) who took her to sail at Loch Tumme SC.

Currently in storage and un-sailable having been passed on through various owners who baulked at the work needed to get her on the water. She has made her way from the west of Scotland to Central Scotland and is currently 3rd in line of Twelves awaitng re-furb and repair.Came with wood spars and fairly original sails. No date yet projected for getting her bottom wet!

Spotted in 'neglected' condition at Annandale Sailing Club having come across from Tynemouth some time previously. Needed a re-decking, tlc and fitting out along with age-related repairs. It is currently awaiting repaint and varnish whilst in storage in Central Scotland. Should be sailable in the Spring. Because it was 'found' near to a War-time munitions base (in Annan) it has been re-named 'Devil's Porridge Bowl'. (Local people called the gunpowder munitions mix the devil's porridge!)

Sadly neglected but in good, resurrectable condition. Sold by Ulley Sailing Club through the eBay network and has 'landed' in Central Scotland where it is currently enjoying tlc, refurb and fiting-out. Should be on the water in the spring.

Roly Mo et al, watch this space! With inside knowledge I can tell you that this season Angus will be all singing and dancing!! Don't say I didn't warn you!!!

As a recent returnee to Twelves, is 'Hot Chocolate' one of these new-fangled carbon double-bottoms then? If so, Angus will definitely come out of hibernation!

Can somebody not cheer up Angus by offering him a good AC Crusader, Baggy or similar? I reckon he's pretty depressed over the sale of his Doll (above) cos when he told me about the sale, he'd reckoned he had just recruited a new 12 sailor up here in sunny Scotland!
With Xmas just round the corner some of you southerners must be 'trading up' and have a decent boat for him. That way he wouldn't have to worry about brass cannons and europes, and he could rejoice in the sound of shot- gunfire as he takes the winning salvo!
Go on, make his day!

Angus is probably asleep as he works so hard so I will answer for him!
It's 2717, an Impact built China Doll. Like you folks, I hope it sells to someone who will fully appreciate it and sail it, not try to sell it on for max profit after a couple of weeks ownwership!

Check out the Nat Graduate website. There is some photo/diagramatic operational detail and suggested sources of material suppliers.
