The old grey cells aren't what they used to be !  Well done anyway - that's certainly not somewhere I would choose to race at too frequently!

Small crews do need to develop the sliding tack - my girls managed it at a very young age sailing at Henley where there are more tacks per race than many other venues - think twice Simon!

Well done to all who did battle - especially Graham who has managed two brilliant results in 2 years but has even managed to tolerate the venue 2 years running!!!!

Matt's comments above are on the nail regarding weight - I have won several inland meetings sailing with the sort of weight you're planning and indeed more! You might find that a Crusader will be a better bet inland than a man-o-war. they are easier to tack and sail well in light winds. You could spend less and seek out a decent Cheshire Cat which would be excellent inland but would struggle to keep up on open water.

Happy hunting

A big THANK YOU to Kevin (and his helpers!)for all the hard work in organising this excellent series. A big THANK YOU too to Gill.

What a Finale -37 boats with close racing from one end of the fleet to the other - lets build on this next year!

Very carefully re-decked by Geoff Dorricot of Spinnaker SC when he owned her - circa 1989

No videos from you for next year's open then?

Don't let the 23 st worry you too much - we've won the Tickenham open meeeting a few times with that sort of weight.

Good attitude - expect a few swims and learn by them!

Welcome to the Class - you'll have great fun.

Cheers

Baggies don't carry weight quite as well as Crusaders - I had a new Cheshire Cat built at the time that Baggies came about and had  some good success against them at on rivers, small lakes and Salcombe. If you're towards the top of the weight range I'd avoid a Baggy for that reason alone - they're quick on all points of sailing otherwise.

Good luck - where's your small lake?

Just  a quick word of caution regarding fillers - I once thought I'd use Tertrion as a fine surface filler. This was a disaster! The paint disolved the filler and I eneded up having to remove the resulting mess.
Use a decent epoxy filler!
