It says Amatuer build on the header, but Mike was in charge of the workshop at Porters when he built it, so a real craftsman and professional- the original finish was beauitiful, you've bought a good boat!

This boat was at Portchester SC in the early 80's, owned by Mike Exelby who later helped build 3152, and built 3259 and 3262 whilst working for Porter Bros. She was pale blue then.

Came to Portchester in the '80s. Last I heard someone on the Y+Y forum had it: think it's been modified. May be on the IOW?

Built at Porter Bros at the same time as 3259: I think they got Andy Turners mould and whilst building 3259 for Ken, Mike built this one for himself.

Much loved and much modified, a well known boat at Portchester, I think Andy Turner chopped the top off her and made her into a wide version at some point.

Built by the late Andy Turner for himself, and stayed at Portchester with Ken Gillam who then had 3259 (Crusader) from Andy's mould

John Wills built Sinbad  3014, then this was his cold moulded version of that boat. Sailed at Portchester at the start of it's life.

This was Chris's famous "I'm taking it home to modify" design, I think! ;D

Remember watching this get built! Originally fitted with stern tank and centre main, it was heavily modified at a later date. Started life at Portchester.

Built for Ken Gillam, sister ship to 3262, went to Pevensea Champs in '87- 26th o/all, we were 4th in the Arrows trophy.

First built for Paul Whitworth of the Portchester fleet, Paul Oakey took it to Pevensea for the champs in 1987, and I think he won the Arrows trophy, being 17th o/all. The two Pauls sailed a 505 together with some success, and Paul O went on to design the "Wild Front Ear"

Built by John Wills for himself to sail at Portchester, I bought the boat August 1980 and took it back to PchSC. Sold it on to Angela Rennison at the end of '83, when it was redecked by her Dad, another Pch stalwart. Last I heard it was still in the club, but probably derelict after being damaged.
