To all 12 sailors
Plymouth university sailing club are putting on a handicap fleet racing event in the delightful venue of Plymouth sound on 12-13th december. For full details visit sailpower.org.uk
It should be a fun event for students, youth and the eternally young at heart alike. It will be great for the youth 12 sailors to come down and see what university sailing's about with great socials and a quality venue. But we'd love to see sailors of all ages showing how the 12 can wipe the floor in a handicap.

One thing to take note is that the recipe for paradise pudding isn't to my taste. It's a bit suetty and stodgy when i made it.

N3498 Paradise pudding is available. Needs to be collected from Southampton as I'm still at uni and can't compete.

I have sailed at the Wilson and teams don't strictly speaking need to be affiliated with a club. There are Firefly class association teams as well as the best BUSA helms in a team. If the twelves were thinking of hosting a team racing event it might be sensible to host it at the most prestigous team racing club int the country where there is also a substantial 12 fleet and that is Spinnaker. Half the club are team racers or umpires and Phil and Simon are doing wonders with the 12 fleet. Why not try a a saturday of random pairs team racing,  so there's no effort in getting a team of three together and then have the open on the sunday, this is how the firefly's do it at spinnaker.

If you want more uni students don't choose events in may or june (e.g Burton weekend) and approach the nearest uni's to venues with boats to borrow and cheap entry. Of course the bigger the lash the better as well!

Not as bad as when Pete May (spinnaker sailor, sorry to all non pondies) used to were Jellies (those sandals that you wore on the beach) sailing his laser.

I'm actually in Cambodia, seemed like a lot of effort to come back for one days racing. Glad to see you got some decent (spinnaker standards) racing. Will be back in a month and dust the cobwebs off paradise pudding.

I would love to go to the event but is dependent on finding a crew and giving Paradise Pudding some much needed TLC.

I like the caption. I was surprised Ed did that well. I'm aghast he even remembered to turn for the exams. We probably should be kinder to him cos he is one of those disgusting Laser sailors (I've finally sold mine).

Have no fear paradise pudding is here. Hopefully i'll get down and ready for sailing on saturday. it will be nice to get used to a 12 in a consistent breeze rather the puddle that is spinnaker.

A tuning session would be good on the saturday depending on logistics. Can't wait

Having just acquired Paradise Pudding I'm planning to come and have a spin. I'll be coming up from spinnaker and am looking forward to it.
