I sailed in this boat with Dare Barry at one of the Combined Bank Sailing Club Regattas held at Hayling Island SC in 1991 we came 2nd overall. It was sporting a centre mainsheet in those days as did his previous boat Roly Poly Pudding

We were 3rd in the Arrows trophy, Rob, your memory must be going ;D

This boat along with 3262 was built from Andrew Turner's mould. The Pevensey championships were my first in the Twelves and we came 26th overall just behind Patrick Elcombe in 3208, who was next to us in the boat park. We had two races on a windy day and the attached photograph is from the second race that day, exciting reaching!

I am trying to find some more photos and if so will put them on my blog which you can find from my website http://www.artyman.co.uk

Patrick Elcombe came 25th in the Nationals at Pevensey Bay in 1987  I came 26th in 3259 with Rob Eastwood crewing me. We were alongside each other in the boat park.

I obtained this boat from Andrew Turner, he taking 2667 'Dutch Courage' in part exchange. It was named 'Legless Lizard' painted in Andrews customary black, which looked very smart with the white sycamore gunwhales. I sailed this for a few years at Portchester SC before getting 3259.

This boat was built by Chris Davies, following his gold medal win at the 1972 Olympics crewing fro rodney Pattison in the Flying Dutchman class. Based at Portchester SC I think he came 7th in Burton Week in her in 1973. She was bought by the Nat West Bank SC and continued to be raced at Portchester by Ken Gillam (myself) later sold within the club, I purchased her myself. The rear Boyancy Tank was removed in 1982 and I remember listening to the House of Commons debate on the Falklands crisis whilst working on her in the garage.

She was later part exchanged for 3140 a Viper design built by Andrew Turner whose funeral I sadly attended yesterday. She continued to be sailed at Portchester until a collision with another boat did considerable damage. Andrew Turner rebuilt the topsides and made her wider. I have been hunting for some photographs of 2667 and will post them when I find them.
