N2930 was originally owned by Allen Cave who sailed her very well at Pitsford (Northampton SC) in the late 1970s. In those days she was dark green. I remember Allen sailing her particularly quickly in breezy conditions.

This boat was originally owned by Alan Cave and sailed at Pitsford (Northampton SC).

From memory, I think that Nigel Musto borrowed her for the 1981 Burton Week at Pevensey. I think that Ian Tillett (Baldrick) was in the front.

Just found this on the Yachts and Yachting site. N1202 (and N1197) mentioned.

From memory, this boat was decaying in the boatpark at Pitsford in the 1970s. She was painted dark blue and had seen better days. She looked something like a scaled down 505 (same hull flare), it was noticeable. Maybe John Westell was trying out ideas  which later became the 505?

This was the first China Doll built by Wyche & Coppock. She was a pretty boat with a "knuckle" and comfortable rolled sidedecks.   I owned her from 1977 to 1978 (I think she was purchased from a bloke called Wyn Williams? who sailed her at Tynemouth). I sailed her at Pitsford and Rutland. Pitsford (Northampton SC) was a hotbed for 12s in those days (The Baileys, Nigel Waller, Debbie Jarvis etc were all there... happy days).

This boat was raced at Pitsford in the late 70s/early 80s. A bloke called Trevor Nolten owned and sailed her then sold her to a great and hilarious bloke called Rob Bunten. Sailed her with Rob at the 1983 Burton in Llandudno, our tent was stolen so we lived in his Triumph Dolomite and I recall being thrown through a plate glass window at Tiffanys Wine Bar by a van load of scousers. Happy days.

I owned her from 1978 to 1981. Acquired her from the Davison brothers who sailed at Queen Mary and had her from new. She was the plug for the grp Scooters and was originally painted red with a black Holt mast. A pretty, well-built boat but no correctors. From memory, I sold her to a bloke from up North.
At that time, Northampton was a hotbed for Twelves. Nigel Waller (later with Jo Richards) was building in Market Harborough just up the road from Northampton SC (and just down the canal from where I live today).
Out of interest, does anybody know her whereabouts these days ? I might be interested in owning her again. Need something a bit quicker to get from house to pub....... see link below....
