This boat was a glass shell decked by Richard and Roderick Clark, with a lot of help from their father. I remember that when it came to hanging the rudder it was a toss up wheather they put it in the middle of the transom or lined it up with the centerboard.
She measured ok but could not pass a buoyancy test. The trouble was traced to pin holes in the moulding just under the bow and easily sorted.
Richard took her to the nationals that year (I think at Whitstable) and had to fit perspex washboards to the foredeck as the bailers couldn't cope with the water that came in over the bow on the beats.
The boat was sold when Richard moved into Int 14s.

This boat was owned at one stage by a fairly novice 12 sailor called Malcom Youkee. Sailed at British Motor Yacht Club on the Thames. The boat was painted white and I think had a needlespar mast.

Hi jim, just seen your post on paint. 3130's hull is painted with international perfection 709. Thats a 2 pack polyurethane in mauritius blue. It only comes in 750ml packs and costs about 30 quid, so its quite expensive. hope this helps. Mike N3306

Hi there. I owned N3130 for about 15 years, up to about 3 years ago. she is a good boat. I was sorry to part with her but now have a crusader 88. She was professionally re-decked in 1998 and had an extensive re-fit. She was pretty quick when I had her, doing well in many open meetings. I still have quite a few tuning details if you need any help. Its good to hear she will be getting sailed again. Please get in touch and let me know how you get on.
