She has been in dry storage for 65 years. Built 1936 But now I'm teaching my kids to sail in her. Gorgeous sailer, and built like a tideway so perfect for a bit of swallows and amazons on Windermere! Leaks like a sieve but I'm sure she'll take up with time. Sikaflex will be my friend I think!

How do I add photos? Got some lovely ones - really beautiful boat.

Hi all,

She's now been renamed to her original name and is currently residing at Whitefriars Sailing Club. After a good dose of TLC, she's now sporting a full carbon rig and several other renovations. A gorgeous-looking boat with tons of potential... now I just need to figure out how to set her up correctly and to ..... tame her! 🙂

Jammy is back on the water at Teesdale Sailing and Watersports Club (Grassholme Reservoir in the North Pennines).  A lovely quiet evening, so a perfect opportunity for my youngest (aged 12) to have his first go at helming a Twelve!

Remove all the metal fittings, keel band etc first.  Either treat these as scrap metal or hoard them!  Locally I offloaded much of my hoard at a boat auction.  When sawing up the fibreglass wear a face mask, particularly if using electric saw etc.  I hasten to add that I never scrapped any of my N12s, I always found some idiot to buy them!  I did scrap a very second hand tender I bought for £20 for my first post-N12 yacht.  I sawed that up by hand using an ordinary panel saw.

Cut them up (circular saw works well) into sections, take them to a council waste disposal site and drop into the energy recovery skip. Goes to nearest waste-to-power station. Check restrictions on trailers or commercial looking vehicles, some don't allow trailers and most will charge if they think you are a disposing as a business.
