The Club is having an official opening (29th October) of new Club house and also final celebrations of its 50th year.  Any former sailors from there would be welcome - please get in contact.  There used to be an active fleet so would be interested in hearing which designs / boat numbers sailed there.

Also would like to canvess opinion on how many would attend an Open meeting there - probably would be held jointly with Albacore (the meeting tends to be early May) their numbers dropped off a bit last year and trying to encourage more 12s to join / get out on water (we have 4 in the Club reputedly!).

Club is an old gravel pit, new Clubhouse, good food, camping space - located in Cotswolds Nr. Cirencester.

Would the Club be in South West Region or Thames - since we are part of the source for it!!??

Thanks,

We might be interested in coming to a one-day meeting, depending on the fixture list and what else is on.  I fear that you are in the South West, rather than Thames, so would be included in that series, though we include all the Southern area meetings in the Thames area series so further expansion is not out of the question!

Two possible dates may be available for 2006;

OR

Sunday 7th May - share with Albacore

These are provisional but sailing programmes are being reviewed now.

All,

My daughters recently attended the Cadet open meeting at South Cerney. It's a super little club and very friendly. The lake is about the size of Aldenham (for those who remember), maybe a bit bigger. A good place to sail 12's. Now a joint Cadet/12 open, that would be interesting! About an 1hr 45 mins from west London.

Dave.

Is this close to, or was the club called, "Whitefriars SC" in the past?

The Cotswold Water park has several sailing Clubs located very closely, South Cerney, Whitefriars and Cotswold are all within a 'stones throw' of each other - Bowmoor is further out - there are more lakes that do different activitites.

So yes if you know where Whitefriars is you can find South Cerney - our lake is a little bigger and deeper (sail Flying Fifteens).

Trying to grow the N12s at Club - there used to be a fleet here a while ago.
