P.R.Taylor is Peter "Bungy" Taylor, who used to build Finns and Yawls out of Island Street and later Whitestrand in Salcombe.  At one time his Finn's were standard kit for anyone who was anyone.  I know of three twelves that he built.

Peter moved to Hamble and got involved in some big boat projects, before moving to Switzerland as a composite engineer for Sauber.  I assume that he is still doing this, I also understand that he maintains and races meter boats on the Swiss lakes.

Your restoration looks great, and goes to show how a well built boat can stand the test of time.

Many thanks for your message. Lets hope Mr Taylor looks into the site every now and then.
Thanks too for the compliment and yes it is so true that it takes a lot to keep a good boat down. I was surprised at how well it had fared despite being treated so badly. And there is so much satisfaction in watching the wood come back to life.

JULIAN.

I'm not sure my Dad looks into this page. But I found it searching for photos and articles of him on the internet. My Dad Peter ,,Bungy" Taylor is doing fine, still pottering on boats as much as he can here on Lake Geneva in Switzerland. If anybody needs an expert builder, I'm sure he can still help you out.  :D
