Advertised for sale on eBay May 2013. Located in Stonehouse.
Spoke to owner, who wasnt sure what dinghy class she was. Comes with wooden mast. Starting bid £75. Abandoned restoration project...owners wife threatening to use her as a "planter"....looks worth saving to me!

From Chris Menheneott: I raced Cherry Pink at Trent Sailing Club, Farndon, outside Newark between about 1959 and 1962. We then had a family move to Surrey, and raced at Thames Sailing Club, Surbiton. Being a Mk 6 she was then a great compromise for river sailing, pointing up well but also going well on the open sea: we used to take her down to Falmouth Week from Persuil SC each summer.
She was my first racing dinghy and I learnt a great deal from her and from the leaders in the Club and round the Midlands circuit - Trent Valley, Burton etc.  I went on to sail all sorts of different boats and keelboats, but I learnt my racing skills in a Twelve on the Trent.
I subsequently joined the RM and Cherry Pink was sold - I think - to someone at Newstead Abbey.  Sad to see her "laid up" like this - has she succumbed to life as a Planter? Can she be tracked down?

Mum wanted to turn it into a boat seat in the garden. But I wouldn't have it I have had to spend quite a lot of hours restoring the hull as years of rain had taken its toll. A lot of the deck and transom also had it actually had no idea what I was letting myself in for. . With all surfaces sanded down the name had to be removed. Strip decked with mahogany and has been modified with boxed in bouancy tanks under the deck and bow.
