Its amazing how many of those scratches will disappear following a good rub down with wet and dry. Any that then remain can then be exopied over, flatted back and  painted. I always use Epithanes monourthane. Its almost as hard as 2 pot without the reaction problems over unknown previous paint finishes. let it cure well and flat back with wet and dry and polish to perfection!
