Jennie Clark (Guest)

Ripon SC will host their annual N12 open meeting on Saturday 5 October and we are hoping for another great day of racing with a good turnout of boats.  Racing will start at 11am, the galley will be open to serve breakfast rolls for those making an early start and we've booked great wind, sunshine and have the usual ace RO crew of Chris, Terry and Barbara.  We are joined this year by the Enterprises, who will be sailing for the Richard Sadler Memorial Trophy.  We need to show them that blue sails just aren't the way forward . . . .
As usual we should be able to find crews for those who need them, but as there will be blue sailed boats looking for crews too we need to know sooner rather than later so we can bag you the best!  Please get in touch if you do want a crew.  Camping is available at the club on Friday and Saturday night, and of course we are just a few miles from Yeadon SC who will hold their N12 meeting on the Sunday.  So come along for a great weekend of sailing and socialising - see you on the water!
There will be the usual supper in the clubhouse on Saturday evening, tickets can be booked when you enter but some idea of numbers in advance would be helpful.

Hi Jennie  I will be sailing Hoodoo with Helen crewing, hopefully Squidgy Bits will be sailed by Matt and Ben Lulham Robinson of Mirror and 420 fame and interest has been shown in sailing Triarda by a certain Peter Miatt so the full (current) fleet may well be out.  I will confirm nearer the time of course but looking forward to it already.8):)

I plan to be there with Reflection, I will probably require a crew.

Thomas and I will be there in N3331 and Yeadon.

Tim Gatti

I'll be there with Gill Bilton - probably in 'Gruffalo' and hoping that it's not too breezy for an open decked, wooden-masted, ribby.
Looking forward to it.
Tim

Update on Angus!  Due to a trailer disaster that could only befall Angus he will now be sailing on of the Chadwick vintage fleet with Toby Simpson as crew.
Matt Lulham Robinson will be sailing Squidgy Bits and I will be sailing my other vintage.  Brian Kitching is also coming up and Brian Herring has been modifying his Starfish again in readiness so looking like a good turnout.  Hopefully Neil and Rachel will also be coming out to play and John Cheetham if he gets a crew sorted.

Brilliant open meeting at Ripon thank you to all at RSC for once again providing an excellent event, good wind, great courses, sunshine and a great BBQ to finish off the day.  18 boats was just awsome and congratulations to Tom Stewart and family Stewart in the front end on an excellent and convincing win.   This year we shared the water with the Enterprise fleet which was no problem at all however the winner of that event was I believe Tim Sadler who somehow convinced Charlotte Stewart to crew for him!  We had to smile though when family Stewart picked up all those prizes supplied by Rooster!   Other prize winners included (I think) Philp David and Josh Cowley?  Bernard Clark and not sure who it was as we werent near enough to see, Ed and Sarah Storey.   Brian Kitching and Naomi Bilton finished first vintage.   Will we be seeing a full report soon please to confirm or correct my dodgy memory of events?  Great pics on the Ripon website, rumours on Facebook that Bernard enjoyed so much wine it gave him gout is this true? 8)
10 boats went on to Yeadon the following day for more wind and more sun and a report on that one is due shortly from Tim Gatti (hint)

Jennie C (Guest)

Report now done - sorry for the delay, this dratted thing called work got in the way.  It's gone to Y&Y and to Graham so should appear shortly.  Put 4 October in your diaries for next year's event!
Thank you to everyone who joined in the BBQ.  Three courses, plus coffee for £5 and we still managed to make a £90 donation to the RNLI.  Fantastic!  Big big thanks to Alison Hampshire and Sarah Nicholas for all their hard work serving and clearing up, so very much appreciated.
