Although a long way off I am planning on fitting a double floor to my 12(Gryphon 3214) in the autumn. The boat needs some TLC etc so I thought I would fit a double floor at the same time. I wondered if anybody had any experience of doing this and if they had any photos of the various stages? It would be good to maybe put it on the website somewhere.

Hi Steve.
I fitted a floor into 3412, and put double floors into the wooded 4 plankers I build. Not very difficult and should cost about £100. Give me a call if I can help or call in to Thorpe bay. Also look at 12 web for wooded home build, all the pics are there.
good luck Dare Barry

As a db user, I'd advise five things - 1. take care to get the floor as low as possible (while of course ensuring that it drains); 2. build in a slight slope on each side towards the centre - it feels much more comfortable; 3. build in big kick bars in the right places; 4. make sure you put in good access hatches in the right places; 5. apply a good non-slip finish.
