First Carnac
then Shoreham...
Welcome to The
Latest Chapter!
After enjoying
perfect
conditions in
Carnac, we were
treated to
champagne sea
sailing at
Shoreham. Can't
wait for Burton
Week now on
essentially the
same bit of
water a few
miles down the
coast at
Pevensey. If
that wasn't
enough, we've
also had the 2nd
ever Vintage
Championships in
June as well as
other open
meetings across
the country.
Read on for all
the news...

Tom Stewart and
Andrea Ralph won I
very competitive
fourth GUL
Series open
meeting of the year
at Shoreham Sailing
Club. The sailing
was perfect despite
a forecast lack of
wind and this joint
event with the
Fireballs was run
brilliantly by the
Shoreham team with
well thought out
courses. On shore we
were treated to an
excellent BBQ and
with camping onsite
were able to enjoy a
few beers too!
You can read the
full write up on
Yachts and Yachting
and on the
12 website
(check out both as
there are different
pictures). There are
lots more pics on http://www.warwickpics.com/national-12-open-meeting-2014.html
There is also some
great video footage
on
YouTube - thanks
to the guys on the
committee boat and
Sophie Mackley.
Next up on the
GUL Series is
Burton Week at
Pevensey Bay on the
August Bank Holiday
weekend.

The Vintage Champs
were held over the
last weekend in June
with a range of
racing for vintage
12s. On the Saturday
Howard Chadwick and
Naomi Bilton came
out on top in the
Derwent Handicap
pursuit race series.
The points series on
Sunday went down to
the wire with 3
boats tied after the
final race and
Bernard and Ellie
Clark took the Gill
Half Model Trophy on
account of their win
in the last race of
the weekend. A
special mention goes
to Tim Gatti who won
the ribby trophy
sailing with Gill
Bilton, and the
Concours d'elegance
prize for the
beautiful Gruffalo
(N3541). The full
report can be found
on the
12 website and
lots of photos
here.
The event went down
so well with the 20
competitors that
next year's event is
already being
planned...you can
share your ideas on
the
forum thread.

about the open and
the team racing

Jon Ibbotson and
Charlotte Stewart

in after Pevensey.

you need to agree
them with your club

download the
handicaps and the
supporting statement

local sailing
committee
here.
