National Twelves at Waldringfield Easter Egg

Nineteen National Twelve's turned out for a weekend of glorious sunshine and gentle sea breezes at Waldringfield over the Easter weekend.

Saturday's race was won on the water by Jon and Charlotte Ibbotson after Jonathan Brown and Jane Jones had taken an early lead. It was later that it became clear that only two boats had sailed the correct course. Ollie Woolgar took first place and Jerry Garner second, the only two boats to have sailed around Beacon C.

Two races were sailed on Sunday with Tom Stewart and Liz Ross winning the first from Jon and Charlotte Ibbotson. The next was won by Frances Gifford and Rich Bailey with the Ibbotsons again taking second.

Monday was the sunniest day of the weekend, Stewart and Ross establishing a large lead at the start of the first race which was held to the finish. The Ibbotsons and the Stewart/Ross combination battled it out in the final race of the series with the Ibbotsons taking line glory and Stewart and Ross taking the Easter Egg home for the series.
