Had a recent suggestion that we should put some weather links on the website, please add to this discussion if you know of some good weather sites. Here are the best ones I know of.

I find www.theyr.net is great for its wind forecast and you can run a simulation of a 6 hour period.

This site is fairly accurate....well as accurate as any forcast can be and can be extended to 15 days out via postcode.  Have a look...

More on the Y&Y web site under the weather banner, hours of endless amusement. :)

I belong to Thorpe Bay YC on the Thames and on the club website is a link to the Isle of Sheppey YC. The IOS YC have a great weather web site which I constantly check on before I go sailing. It even has a web cam to show what the Thames is realy looking like. Here is the link.

There is only one down side to this site in that it is on the south side of the Thames and I am on the north side. So if there is either a N or S wind the readings are a bit out. The club I belong to is proposing to do a similar web site as the IOS site. This will give a more accurate reading for all Thames users.

I would concur with 'waves and everything' that   www.metcheck.com   is a very good weather site - gives wind speed and direction throughout each day and having used the site for months can honestly say that it has proven to be as accurate as one could hope for.  The next 24 hours forecasts are usually spot on.

Hi - at Clacton Sailing Club our members  also finds it useful to list tide tables - again from the BBC - we've linked it through our site;

I bet that none of the weather sites had reckoned on the waterspout and tornado at Hunstanton.
