The fourth boat to come out of the Cheshire Dinghy and Dive mould whilst on 'loan' to Rudyard Lake SC members. Only ever saw this boat once half built in Ian's back garden so don't know any more than he was at Rudyard Lake at the time. He was quick in his Street Legal so expect he was quite rapid in a Baggy. I owned Red Wind after Ted Hill had refitted it in about 2000. From Memory it came out of someones barn in Somerset. I mainly sailed it at Bartley SC, then when I bought my first Cherub I sold it to my?crew at the time, so that we still had a boat to go blasting in when it was windy! And yes it was a stunningly quick boat. The boat is now kept at Draycote SC. Suffered a little bit of deck damge in a storm last year, but that is now all fixed, and good as new again. |

I bought Red Wind from Ian after he had replaced it with his new modified Baggy, I think in 1995. Fitted out slowly, I only really sailed it a few times, the longest run out it had being at the Harwich nationals that year where I did expectedly badly and won the Burton Brick for match racing for last place during all of Tuesday's race only to dead heat last place with (I think) Baggy II 3377. Happy days. |

I have just bought Red Wind and she is in my front garden for a few spots of varnish before I take her down to Desborough. |

I crewed this boat with Ian for a few years, she was fairly quick, winning a Warming Pan & the Clinker Trophy. From memory, you could shed a few kilos off her with a belt sander to the floor, we learned a lot building her. For some unknown reason she liked a lot more mast rake than was the accepted normal at the time. |
