We have just visited Looe to check it out
as a championship venue for 2003. This was our first visit to
Looe and we found the town absolutely stunning. The club is very
friendly and is situated in the middle of East Looe. Launching
looks easy straight off the beach and there is a short sail out
to the race course making it an ideal venue for a first Burton
week. There's also lots to do around Looe for the whole family,
the beaches are lovely and the pasties are great! I also hear
that sponsors for the week are lining up early so there will be
plenty of prizes throughout the fleet. See you there in August.

What to expect out of Burton week 2003
Join us in Looe and you can count on a varied
format of racing to suit everyone. Some days have a single race
around 2 hours long and some have two races of around 1 hour each.
There will be a variety of course shapes, and of course the famous
Burton Cup race.
Every evening there is a social event which will provide fun and
games for everyone in the fleet including a beach games night,
barbecue and discos.
Prizes
Prizes as ever will be awarded throughout the whole fleet including
juniors, ladies and first timers. If you have a Admirals Cup qualifying
Twelve (single bottomed as opposed to self draining) there will
be plenty of extra prizes for you to aim for, including a special
prize for the first Admirals Cup boat in the Burton Cup race and
a P&B jib for the first Admirals Cup boat over the whole week.
And if that's not enough to tempt you, if it's your first Burton
Week you get a £20 discount on the entry fee!
