Midland area series (Armada Trophy) results

Hopefully everyone has enjoyed the new style MAAT series aimed at encouraging club sailors and those with older boats to travel at least once to waters new. 36 Helms and crews have participated this year at five clubs; our thanks to all competitors and clubs for their active, efficient and sporting participation.

The initial proposal for 2010 is to run the same events next year at the same venues but it has already been suggested that having two events on the same weekend to finish the series is too much (and it certainly puts a lot of pressure to get the full MAAT results out within 90 minutes of the last race!). Perhaps a few more locations might be included in 2010 (possibly Carsington?) and some clubs may want to go back to Saturday meetings. Did having two open meetings on the last day ie vintage and 4 plankers having separate races from the DB/ACs work for you? Was it a problem running club racing at the same time? Please forward your (constructive) comments to paul@alverbanksails.co.uk by 31st October at the latest.

And the results are as follows (with the top 15 placings):
