Coaching
Regardless of the age of your Twelve or your sailing experience,
Coaching sessions offer practical advice and support on how to get
those extra seconds that make the difference in competitive fleets. Run
by experienced Twelve sailors from the very front of the fleet, these
practical sessions offer the chance to check rig settings, practice
boat handling, start line and mark rounding techniques and generally
include a brush up on the rules’ element too!. For 2006 there
are 4
coaching sessions planned- put the date for your local session in the
diary now
- 20th May Scaling Dam
S.C. (North Yorkshire, Nr Whitby)
- 20th May Desborough
S.C. (Shepperton, Middlesex)
- 17th June Trent Valley
S.C. (Nr Nottingham)
- Improvement Seminars will be held at
every ‘Gill’ series event
- 19th-25th August Porthpean S.C.
Advanced Race Coaching
Coaches include: Mark
Rushall, Graham Camm and Zoe Ballantyne (2005 National 12 Champions).
Alternative
Sessions. If there isn’t a date that suits you
or a convenient location, contact the National 12 Association
co-ordinator. Other events can be arranged to suit interest and demand.
Try-a-12
Thinking of joining
the most exciting development class? Come and ‘Try
a Twelve’ – you’ll be hooked
In conjuction with our coaching and advanced race craft sessions, the
Class Association offer sailors who are interested in finding out more
about ‘Twelves’ to come along and experience Twelve
sailing, with the
help and support of top helms and crews. Not only do you get a chance
to have a sail in a range of different designs, you’ll also
be able to
view a sample of boats which are for sale. Recent ‘Try a
Twelve’
sessions were a great success with new members joining the class, and
existing members selling boats (and buying new ones too!)
Bring your sailing gear along, and find out just what makes Twelve
sailing such great fun!
See you on the water!
